YANKEES GLAD TO CALL THE SOUTH HOME!
We always knew that we wanted to get out of the Northeast. The constant grind of life in the NY/NJ area
can truly weigh on a family of four. Everyone posturing to prove themselves with the things that don’t matter – status, money, job title, their latest big purchase, their upcoming grand vacation, etc. For my wife and I, it has, and always will be about our family. We find our joy in the smiles on our little girls’ faces. We knew that in order to instill the right values needed to thrive and give them the type of childhood they deserve, we needed to get out of NJ.
In August of 2017, my wife and I came to visit her brother who was attending med school at MUSC in Charleston, SC. This was to be a simple trip – see Scotty, check out Charleston, and enjoy a long weekend of just the two of us. However, on our flight home, we came to the decision that we needed out of NJ immediately. With that in mind, we set out to sell our home – doing so in two weeks. On December 26th, 2017, the day after Christmas, we packed up the U-Haul and headed South to start our new adventure as a family
We hope that this blog serves as a resource for families looking to make that same decision, inform newbies to the Charleston area of all that the low country has to offer as we discover it ourselves, expose the hidden gems, share great restaurants & shops and document this wonderful journey we call life!!!
